Winner of the 2023 Prix des Musiques d’Ici, the Ensemble Châkam—named after an ancient form of Persian poetry—offers a distinctive musical language that weaves together Iranian and Arabic classical repertoires with Baroque influences. Its founder, Sogol Mirzaei (Iran/France), is widely recognized as one of the leading representatives of the râdif, Iran’s classical musical tradition.

Their music unfolds as a refined and demanding dialogue between the târ (lute), qanûn (zither), and viola da gamba. Audiences can expect an immersive musical experience where intense rhythmic passages respond to vibrant melodic lines, under the theme of an Iranian artist’s cultural legacy.

This concert is presented as part of the “Heritage & Exile” series, dedicated to supporting artists in exile and preserving cultural heritage.
