ILA is building a cultural ecosystem where censored, exiled, or at-risk artists can thrive and where audiences can experience the depth, beauty, and urgency of their work.
Our programming cuts across disciplines – film, music, visual art, conversations, cultural diplomacy, emerging formats – and offers audiences in Switzerland a unique opportunity to encounter major contemporary artists while contributing to the preservation of endangered cultural heritage.
Under this program, ILA:
- Secures the legal entry of at-risk and activist artists for the specific purpose of enabling them to exhibit, perform, screen or otherwise display their work in a free and safe environment
- Curates and produces arts festivals, concerts, exhibitions, and other events so artists can share their work. These ILA events are produced in partnership with arts and culture institutions and presenting organizations
- Amplifies artists’ work as they advocate for the social causes to which they have dedicated themselves in their home countries.
