Berlin-based attorney Michael Mai leads ILA’s advocacy before the German government, working to secure artists’ safe entry into Germany. He brings 14 years of experience in civil and contract law, alongside more than a decade spent lecturing and teaching legal seminars.
His commitment to human rights took shape early. During his legal clerkship, Michael worked at the Academy of Arts in Berlin before continuing in La Paz, Bolivia, where he developed a benefit campaign with the Society for Threatened Peoples (GfbV). He holds a law degree from Freie Universität Berlin.
For Michael, human rights know no borders.
